Te Puea Hērangi, often referred to as Princess Te Puea, was a prominent Māori leader from New Zealand’s Waikato region. Born in 1883, the granddaughter of Tāwhiao Te Wherowhero, the second Māori King, Te Puea played a vital role in strengthening the cultural, social, and economic wellbeing of the Tainui people.
She remained deeply involved in their affairs until her passing in 1952.
